GEMS Ladies Club Supports Sekondi School for the Deaf with Essential Donations

Sekondi: The GEMS, an initiative by the Ghana Revenue Authority's Customs Division Ladies Club, has extended support to the Sekondi School for the Deaf at Inchaban in the Shama District of the Western Region through a generous donation of essential items.

According to Ghana News Agency, the donation included two maxi bags of gari, two maxi bags of beans, eight bags of rice, a jerrycan of palm oil, a maxi bag of sugar, a maxi bag of salt, and five cartons of canned mackerel. Additional contributions comprised two maxi bags of maize, 20 cartons of spaghetti, 320 packs of biscuits and drinks for the students, 10 cartons of bottled water, six cartons of soft drinks, and 10 cartons of crunchy break and fruity cookies biscuits.

Revenue Officer Edna Impraim from the Takoradi Collection, GRA, and a member of the Club, presented the items on behalf of the President of the GEMS. She noted that this gesture was a part of their corporate social responsibilities aimed at aiding the less privileged. The Club's initiative was to bring joy to the children at the school.

RO Impraim expressed her gratitude to corporate bodies and individuals for their contributions towards procuring the items. She highlighted the support from Twellium Industrial Company and the GRA, extending special appreciation for their assistance.

She also called upon other benevolent individuals and organizations to offer similar support to the Sekondi School for the Deaf, emphasizing the importance of creating an engaging environment for the students.

Madam Regina Essilfie, Headmistress of the School, conveyed her appreciation to the donors, highlighting the timeliness of the support. She mentioned that the items would indeed bring joy to the students, expressing gratitude towards the GEMS for their assistance.

Madam Essilfie also appealed to stakeholders for continued support to ensure the students receive quality care, contributing to their dignified lives.
