Tema: The Tema District of the Great Commission Church International (GCCI) has held a joint service to climax its 40 Days Fasting and Prayers. The program, themed ‘Praying for the Peace of Ghana: Before, During and After the Elections’, was aimed at interceding for Ghana’s upcoming December 7 polls.
According to Ghana News Agency, the event saw participation from the eight branches of GCCI Tema District, including Grace Temple, Maranatha Assembly, Tema Main Assembly, Tema Newtown Assembly, Prampram Assembly, City of Refuge Temple, Mount Zion Assembly, and Mexico City Cell Group. Reverend Ernest Quaye, the Resident Pastor of GCCI City Refuge Temple, emphasized the importance of Christian unity in his homily, urging various Christian denominations to come together in prayer for a peaceful election period.
Reverend Ernest Quaye called on Ghanaians to ensure that the December 7 polls are conducted in a peaceful atmosphere, emphasizing that Jesus Christ came as the peace of the troubled world and has sent his f
ollowers to reconcile the world to God. He highlighted the necessity of Christian unity for the propagation of the gospel and urged Christians to forgive and live harmoniously with one another.
Rev Paul Morgan-Adorsu, the Tema District Pastor of GCCI, appealed to pastors to forgive church members who had offended them and advised members to do the same with their pastors. Rev Daniel Samuel Edze of GCCI Grace Temple, who administered Holy Communion during the service, encouraged the congregation to live righteously in preparation for Jesus Christ’s second coming.
The service also served as a thanksgiving occasion in remembrance of the late Deacon Manfred Kumah, a former Men’s Ministry Leader of GCCI Maranatha Assembly, who passed away on August 27, 2024, at the age of 58. He is survived by his wife, Mama Christine Kumah, and their three sons: Courage, Shepherd, and Shelter.
