Shettima Arrives in Maiduguri for Eid-el-Kabir Celebration

Maiduguri: Vice-President Kashim Shettima on Friday arrived in his country home of Maiduguri, the Borno State capital, to celebrate Eid-Kabir with his immediate family and the people of the state.

According to News Agency of Nigeria, before departing Abuja, Vice-President Shettima joined other Muslim faithful to observe Eid-Kabir prayers at the National Eid Ground along Airport Road, Abuja. Upon his arrival at the Muhammadu Buhari International Airport in Maiduguri, Shettima was welcomed by Governor Babagana Zulum of Borno, Speaker of the Borno State House of Assembly Abdulkarim Lawan, and other top government officials.

The festival, also known as the Feast of the Sacrifice, commemorates the unwavering faith of Prophet Ibrahim, who was prepared to sacrifice his son in obedience to God's command. At the last moment, he was divinely granted a ram to sacrifice instead.
