Seychelles President Unveils Monument Honouring Union Vale Prison Victims

Victoria: President Wavel Ramkalawan presided over the launch of a National Monument dedicated to citizens who were illegally incarcerated at Union Vale Prison. Accompanied by First Lady Linda Ramkalawan, the President led a solemn ceremony aimed at transforming a site of past suffering into a symbol of justice and hope.

According to African Press Organization, the event gathered survivors, families of victims, distinguished guests, and citizens committed to preserving the truth of Seychelles' journey toward democracy and freedom. President Ramkalawan expressed gratitude to the victims and their families, acknowledging their suffering as a cornerstone of the nation's current freedom.
