Accra: The management of GCB Bank has presented a bull and an undisclosed amount of money to Sheikh Osmanu Nuhu Sharubutu, the National Chief Imam. This gesture is intended to support the Muslim leaders in their preparations for the celebration of Eid-Ul-Adha on Friday, June 6, 2025.
According to Ghana News Agency, Mr. Sina Kamagate, Executive Head of Retail Banking at GCB Bank, handed over the items in Accra on Wednesday, representing the Managing Director, Mr. Farihan Alhassan. Mr. Kamagate highlighted that the Chief Imam's benevolence over the years, marked by his efforts to accommodate and assist others, has inspired the bank's annual initiative to support his charitable activities.
During the presentation, Mr. Kamagate emphasized that the peaceful environment and stability the country enjoys can be attributed to the prayers from Muslim leaders and other religious bodies. He also announced the upcoming launch of the 'Hajj Account' by GCB Bank, aimed at encouraging savings among Muslims and facilitating their aspirations to travel to Mecca, thereby promoting financial inclusion and easing potential financial burdens.
The Chief Imam, speaking through his Spokesperson, expressed gratitude to the bank's management for their support and vowed to utilize the donations effectively. He also offered prayers for the prosperity of GCB Bank's operations and an enhancement in financial performance. Additionally, the Chief Imam prayed for peace in conflict-prone areas such as Bawku and Walewale, underscoring the vital role of peace in fostering development.
