Lambussie: Mr Naawulle Ireneous Basingbie, the Lambussie District Chief Executive (DCE) for Lambussie, has advised pupils writing the Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) not to panic but should inspire for excellent results. The DCE emphasized the importance of this examination as it serves as the sole opportunity for BECE students to progress to the next level in their education, urging them to approach it with seriousness.
According to Ghana News Agency, a total of 843 candidates, consisting of 399 males and 444 females from 34 Junior High Schools (JHSs) in the district, are participating in the examination at three designated centers. These centers include Piina Senior High School, Lambussie Community Day Senior High School, and Holy Family Senior High School. Mr. Basingbie also warned the candidates against engaging in any form of examination malpractice, urging them to remain focused on their examinations. He advised, "When you're answering questions focus on what you've been taught, what you know and what you can remember."
Mr. Basingbie encouraged the students to have confidence in themselves and remain calm throughout the examination period. He reiterated the district's support for the success of the candidates, expressing his best wishes for their examinations. Additionally, the DCE advised the supervisors and invigilators to refrain from causing fear and panic among the candidates, instead fostering a supportive environment to help them confidently complete their examinations.
The DCE was accompanied by officials from the district Ghana Education Service (GES) and the National Disaster Management Organization (NADMO).
