Agona Swedru: Members of the educational Committee of the Swedruman Council of Chiefs have embarked on a tour of BECE (Basic Education Certificate Examination) centers to support candidates. The initiative aims to encourage students and help them overcome anxiety, ultimately boosting their chances of success.
According to Ghana News Agency, the committee, led by Nana Kweku Esieni V, the Regent of Agona Swedru, visited 13 centers, including those in Agona Swedru, Agona Nyakrom, Agona Bobikuma, Nkum, and Agona Abodom within the Agona West Municipality. Nana Esieni addressed the candidates at the Swedru School of Business (SWESBUS), assuring them of the Council's financial support for any candidate achieving a single digit aggregate score.
The Regent emphasized the importance of punctuality, urging teachers to ensure that candidates arrived at the centers on time to avoid unnecessary stress. He expressed optimism that the 2025 BECE would see an increase in high achievers through hard work and dedication.
A recent survey by WAEC highlighted the commendable conduct of the Central Region, which was found to be free from examination malpractices. This positive note aligns with the efforts of the Swedruman Council to foster integrity and excellence among students.
A total of 2,993 candidates from 71 public and private basic schools within the Agona West Municipality are set to participate in the seven-day examination. Mr. Kojo Frimpong, Headmaster of SWESBUS, proudly noted that the center has maintained a clean record of no examination malpractice over the past five years, a standard they aim to uphold this year as well.
