Presidents of Russia and South Africa Discuss Trade and Economic Cooperation


Moscow: Russian President Vladimir Putin held telephone talks with his South African counterpart Cyril Ramaphosa.



According to Ethiopian News Agency, the two leaders discussed issues of further development of mutually beneficial bilateral cooperation, including in trade, economic, and investment areas. It is noted that Putin also congratulated Ramaphosa and all the people of his country on the upcoming 27 April public holiday of South Africa – Freedom Day.



Last week, South African Foreign Minister Ronald Lamola called to deepen economic partnership with Russia. He emphasized that relations between the countries are built on historical solidarity. Lamola paid special attention to such areas as energy, high technology, artificial intelligence, and scientific research.
