Abidjan: The Black Queens of Ghana were narrowly edged by a lone goal in their second warm-up match against the 'Les Elephants' of C´te d'Ivoire at the Stade F©lix Houphou«t Boigny in Abidjan. Following a 3-3 draw in their first encounter last Friday, the Black Queens hoped to conclude their training tour with a victory against the Ivorian side.
According to Ghana News Agency, Habibou Ouedraogo's solitary strike in the second half was enough to give the 'Les Elephants' the victory over the Black Queens in an encounter. The Black Queens, despite having the majority of possession in the game, failed to capitalise on the numerous opportunities that came their way.
The result leaves the Black Queens with just one victory in their last five matches under head coach Kim Lars Bjorkegren, scoring four and conceding six goals. Having wrapped up their training tours, the Black Queens would be hoping for a good outing at the 2025 Women's Africa Cup of Nations tournament to be staged in Morocco next month.
