Wishes from the children for 2022

After a rough start to the year 2022, we asked a few children how they feel about 2021 and what are their wishes for this new year. As they say, ‘la verité sort de la bouche des enfants’ and here are some of the feelings shared by our precious gems.

Ishika Kumar (11 years)

Srikrutha Beravelli (8 years)

My feelings for the year: The first thing I missed in 2021 were all my friends, teachers and my school. I was very scared to go outside because I didn’t want to touch things and get Corona. I felt very bored and sad because I had no one to play with again because of Corona. But I played with my toys. I even built a play area for them and it was fun. I sometimes watched TV and my favourite show was miraculous lady bug. I missed all my family members abroad. In the last term I was very happy as I was going to school and meeting my friends even though it’s from afar and maintaining the distance.

I am wishing that corona go away and we can be normal again and go to the beach and everywhere and have fun. I wish to have playdates with friends at home and celebrations with family and friends. We are praying God everyday to make our life happy without Corona and may all people in the world be blessed.

Maya Manikandan (9 years)

2021 was challenging because we did a lot of home schooling and online classes were tough. We could not have parties and meet up often with loved ones and hopefully this year 2022 I wish all the virus will stop and we can enjoy life more. And I miss travelling to visit my grandparents and if all goes away I can get to see them soon. I also wish to study harder and see my friends more.

Ashritaa Vijayabaskaran (9 years)

Last year was quite boring having to stay home most of the time and always being mindful of Covid-19. The online classes were new and fun, and I enjoyed it very much. My wish for 2022 is to have great days and hoping for Covid to go away soon and I get to travel again!!!! I miss my extended family and also wish to have a birthday party this year with all of my friends.

Arya Manikandan (7 years)

2021 was quiet and I enjoyed the many days I got to stay home with my grandparents and I could play with my sister and my friend. I would also look forward to school days because I could see my friends.

My wish for 2022 is for schools to open and for me to study well. I also want the world to be better so people can see their loved ones and live their life happily.

Elizabeth Francis (8 years) and Emma Francis (6 years)

2021 was bit of a challenge but we are grateful that above everything we are still healthy and alive. We are also happy that the situation started improving and we managed to start doing the things we love such as dancing classes, swimming and very importantly managed to attend for the most part of the year in-person learning. We loved playing and interacting with our friends. We truly hope that the situation vis a vis the pandemic will improve in 2022 and we will be able to do more of the things we love, visit friends and families without fear of anyone getting sick, attend birthday parties and travel.

Daivik Gohel (6 years)

In 2021, the difficult time continued. I could not go to school, could not play with my friends, could not travel, could not go to play around freely because of Covid-19. All my sports stopped. No birthday party, no festivals. The thing I like was spending time with family. I was irritated using hand sanitisers every time. So with this new year, I want to go to school, meet my friends and have fun. I want to go shopping freely. I want no mask and no PCR test before travelling. It is very painful. So I want 2022 to be full of life without Covid.

Shernaz Hasan (10 years)

2021 was an interesting year for me. We had to do online schooling and I missed my friends and playing outside on the school ground. However, i managed to convince my parent to get me a Pomeranian. I’ve learned to be more responsible cause of her now as I need to care for her. For 2022 I hope we can beat the virus and get our lives back. I miss playing with my friends.
