Tuggar Urges Muslim Faithful to Embrace Selflessness During Eid-el-Kabir

Abuja: The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Amb. Yusuf Tuggar, has called upon Muslim faithful to use the occasion of the Eid-el-Kabir festival to emulate the virtues of obedience, resilience, and selflessness, as exemplified by Prophet Ibrahim. Tuggar's message was conveyed in a statement issued on Friday in Abuja by Alkasim Abdulkadir, his Special Assistant on Media and Communications Strategy, marking the celebration of Eid-el-Kabir.

According to News Agency of Nigeria, Tuggar emphasized that Eid-el-Kabir is a festival associated with reflection, sacrifice, and renewed faith in God. He expressed that Eid al-Adha holds deep spiritual significance, urging individuals to embody the virtues of obedience, resilience, and selflessness as demonstrated by Prophet Ibrahim and reinforced in the teachings of Prophet Muhammad. Tuggar highlighted the importance of these values in personal lives and in efforts to build a peaceful and just society.

He encouraged Muslim faithful to pray for peace and stability, both domestically and internationally. He also called for prayers for regions troubled by violence and conflicts, including Gaza, Sudan, and the Democratic Republic of Congo. Tuggar extended his solidarity to internally displaced persons across Nigeria, expressing hopes for lasting relief and the restoration of their dignity.

Additionally, Tuggar conveyed his condolences to the people of Mokwa, Niger, following the devastating floods on May 28, which led to loss of lives and destruction of property. He urged Nigerians to support humanitarian efforts and stand in unity with affected families.

Tuggar took the opportunity to acknowledge the sacrifice and courage of Nigeria's frontline officers, who continue to work for national peace and security. He reaffirmed the government's commitment to advancing Nigeria's interests globally through principled and proactive diplomacy. As the sacred festival is marked, he called for strength from its message and a recommitment to shared humanity, unity of purpose, and national renewal.
