In a statement issued by the Bishopric of Port-Victoria, Seychelles dated December 21, 2022, and signed by the Chancellor of the diocese, Father Edwin Mathiot, several appointments were announced.
Among them, Fathers Edwin Mathiot and Roger de Comarmond who, after long years of service, will no longer assume parochial responsibility from February 2023.
Father Edwin Mathiot, while residing at the cure of Bel Ombre, will continue to assume the following responsibilities: chancellor of the diocese, responsible for the officiality and the newspaper ‘ Écho des îles ‘. Father Roger de Comarmond, meanwhile, will reside at Anse Royale. He will preside over the mass at the service of the Neo-Catechumenal Way and will be available for other services requested by the movement. During the weekends, according to his availability, he will provide replacements in the parishes that request him.
Father Éric Léon, Vicar General, is appointed responsible for the Diocesan House of Formation and the coordination of the training provided within the diocese as well as responsible for catechesis. In addition, he will be responsible for the new digital parish of Saint Gabriel. He will reside at the cure of Anse Royale and he will team up with the priest. During the weekends he will be ‘free’ to exercise his ministry as Vicar General.
Father Lonnie Adrienne is appointed Episcopal Vicar in the finance and land and real estate department of the diocese. He was also appointed parish priest of Saint Antoine at Anse Etoile. Father David Alcindor, pastor of the Cathedral, is appointed exorcist of the diocese. He will also lead a discernment team to better accompany people who live in fear of the forces of evil.
Father Gabriel Siransy is appointed parish priest at the Sacré-Coeur de Jésus parish in La Misère.
Deacon Louis Agathine is appointed to the service of the parish of Saint Antoine at Anse Etoile. He also represents the diocese on the ‘board’ of the ‘Seychelles Bible Society’ with the mission of spreading the word of God in the parishes of the diocese.
Father Landry Rasamison is appointed parish priest at St Michel Archange parish, Anse aux Pins. Father Étienne Tsarazara is appointed vicar in the parish of Saint Michel. Father Francis Kaumbulu is appointed pastor of the parish of Saint François d’Assise in Baie Lazare.
Father Yves Ngowegui-Mbenessesse is appointed responsible for the chaplaincy of the prison and the chaplaincy of the hospital. In addition, he will team up with Father Patrick Mabiana, parish priest of St Jean Bosco (Pointe Larue) and will also, depending on his availability, serve the parish.
Father Ronald Olero is appointed pastor of the parish of Sainte Marie-Madeleine in Takamaka. He will reside at the cure of Baie Lazare to team up with Father Francis.
Father Moïse Diatta is appointed parish priest of Sainte Thérèse in Plaisance. Father Pierre Madiela is appointed parish priest of Notre Dame de Sept Douleurs in Anse Boileau. Father Maurice Milandou is appointed parish priest of the Bon Pasteur in Mont Fleuri. Father Faustin Loukanga, parish priest of the Parish of the Holy Spirit, Perseverance will reside at the cure of the Good Shepherd and will team up with Father Maurice.
Father Collin Underwood is appointed parish priest of Saint Joseph, Anse Royale. He will team up with Father Éric Léon. In addition, he will also be part of the animation team of the digital parish of Saint Gabriel.
Father John Ezenagu is appointed parish priest of Saint Roch in Bel Ombre. He will reside at the cure de Glacis. Father Bruno Rakotonirina is appointed pastor of the parishes of Saint Anne and Saint Joseph in Grand Anse Praslin as well as the parish of Notre Dame de l’Assomption in La Digue. Father Jacques Herilala and Father Severius Kalo are appointed vicars at the service of the three parishes. The main residence of the Carmelites team will be Baie Sainte Anne, Praslin but they will also have a place of residence in La Digue.
However, five priests were not moved from their parish, namely Father Hermann Fenozara (Cascade), Father Patrick Mabiana (St Jean Bosco, Pointe Larue), Father Eloi Fidimalala (Glacis), Father Thierry Rafalimanana ( Grand Anse Mahé and Port Glaud) and Father David Alcindor (the Cathedral).
