The Minister responsible for the family said that his ministry was really concerned with the number of social problems that our society was trying to deal with and called on the district authorities and civil society groups concerned with the family and others to take action. come forward and his ministry is ready to listen and encourage you and help you accomplish your prose.
Minister Marie-Celine Zialor expressed this concern and launched this call in the National Assembly this week to answer a question on social issues by the proportional member of Doyace Porice (Seychellois Democratic Union).
Minister Zialor said that problems in families are everywhere in our country and for the majority it is included.
drug and alcohol abuse, domestic violence, various forms of abuse against children, cases of severe depression, among others, also lead to housing problems.
“The Department of the Family is mandated to work on prevention programs and to help develop family practices and ways of life to transform our society in a more positive way that will reduce these social problems.” The Ministry is also reviewing the police and their partners to bring them into line with the realities of the families and societies in which we live today, ”said Minister Zialor.
But will there be a group to be formed in the district or at the national level that will dismantle these family programs?
At this point, Minister Zialor said that the family department hopes that efforts to help families will not go out of government. “There are a lot of family programs that are decentralized to either the district or the regional level. For example, the Department of the Family will begin its program for couples as well as parenting sessions that the NCC will conduct at the district level. Whether a group is to be formed in the district or at the national level to carry out family programs in each district will depend on the authority of each district and the civil society concerned with the family and others who decide to do so, ”said the Minister. Zialor explains.
Minister Zialor pointed out that his ministry does not have a specific budget due to the lack of the program in question.
Meanwhile, Minister Zialor reminded the members of the National Assembly and the general public that at the national level there are many agencies that support families in different ways and people who see them in difficulty can go to the council at any time.
