As from today, Wednesday September 21, all patients/visitors to healthcare facilities on Mahé, Praslin and La Digue will undergo a different screening procedure to access health services.
“Staff at the reception area of the health facility will ask patients/visitors a few standard questions to screen them for Covid-19. The answers will be duly recorded and form part of the patient’s records. Patients will then be channeled to the appropriate next step according to the answers given,” says Marylene Lucas, director for Community Health Services.
Chief executive of the Health Care Agency, Dr Danny Louange, says the change in the screening procedure is necessary to improve patient services and is in line with the evolving Covid-19 pandemic.
“More and more screening and triage processes will be integrated in routine healthcare services,” he said and asked patients and visitors to cooperate with staff performing screening procedures.
