Satellite Installer Remanded in Custody for Defiling Three Girls

Atwima Agogo: A 27-year-old satellite installer, Emmanuel Bonsu, has been remanded into police custody by the Asante Akropong Circuit Court in the Atwima Nwabiagya North District for allegedly defiling three girls in Atwima Agogo. Bonsu, who pleaded not guilty to the charge of defilement, is scheduled to reappear before the court on June 17.

According to Ghana News Agency, Police Chief Inspector Evans Ayimbisah, prosecuting, informed the court presided over by Mrs. Gloria Mensah Bonsu about the incidents that took place in Atwima Agogo. The first case occurred on November 29, 2024, involving a 14-year-old form two pupil. The victim was washing clothes outside her house while her mother was away, when Bonsu allegedly lured her into an uncompleted building. He reportedly threatened her with a screwdriver, coerced her into touching his nipples, and then forcibly had sexual intercourse with her. The victim was left bleeding and the accused fled the scene.

The second incident, as presented by the prosecution, happened on February 2 of this year. A 15-year-old second-year senior high school student was returning home after visiting a friend when Bonsu allegedly dragged her into an uncompleted building. He reportedly threatened her with a knife, undressed her, and forcibly had sexual intercourse with her. After the act, he allegedly cleaned her with a rag and instructed her to leave.

The third victim, an 11-year-old junior high school pupil, encountered Bonsu on April 28 while running an errand. Prosecutors claimed Bonsu sexually assaulted her by spitting on his penis before inserting it into her vagina. Chief Inspector Ayimbisah stated that the mothers of the victims reported the incidents to the Abuakwa police, leading to Bonsu's arrest on May 16 at Atwima Agogo.

An identification parade was conducted, during which the victims identified Bonsu as their assailant. Although he denied the charges in his caution statement, subsequent investigations led to his indictment and court appearance.
