Victoria: The Office of the President has announced the appointment of Mr. Sabry Khan as the new Director General of the Seychelles Intelligence Service (SIS). This decision was made based on recommendations from the National Security Council and after consultation with the Defence and Security Committee of the National Assembly.
According to African Press Organization, the appointment is in line with the Seychelles Intelligence Service Act of 2018. The primary function of the SIS involves establishing mechanisms to detect threats to the security of Seychelles and its institutions, as well as collaborating with other law enforcement agencies and public institutions to protect the nation's security.
Mr. Khan brings a wealth of experience in national security, law enforcement, and intelligence operations. He has a strong background in aviation security, inter-agency coordination, and strategic risk management. His career includes senior leadership roles within the Seychelles Police Force, Air Seychelles, and the Seychelles Airport Authority, where he has worked closely with national security institutions to safeguard critical infrastructure and national interests.
Mr. Sabry Khan's appointment will take effect on January 6, 2026.
