The President of the Republic, Mr. Wavel Ramkalawan, will travel to Djerba, Tunisia, to participate in the 18th Summit of Heads of State and Government of the International Organization of La Francophonie, under the theme: “Connectivity in diversity – the digital vector of development and solidarity in the French-speaking world. »
This summit, which has been repeatedly postponed for various reasons, is organized as part of the celebration of the fiftieth anniversary of the creation of the Institutional Francophonie, and to reaffirm the global ambition of the French language, which to date has more than 300 million speakers.
Women and young people will have their place there.
In this context, the summit, which will take place for the first time outside the capital Tunis, should constitute a turning point in the history of La Francophonie and a qualitative leap in the Francophone project. It will deal with a new and topical theme that meets the requirements and aspirations for development, employability and prosperity.
President Ramkalawan leaves Seychelles this Wednesday, November 16 and will return on November 25, 2022.
