The President of the Republic, Mr Wavel Ramkalawan, on behalf of the Government, the people of Seychelles and his family has expressed his heartfelt sympathy and deepest condolences to the Designated Minister, Jean-François Ferrari and the Ferrari Family on the passing away of Dr. Maxime Ferrari.
“Today, as we celebrate Independence Day, we mourn a respectable son of the soil who served as minister in the first cabinet. Seychelles is mourning the passing of a true son of Seychelles. Dr Ferrari’s immense contributions to the country as a renowned medical practitioner, political icon and active citizen who has enormously contributed to the development of our nation. His lively personality and immense knowledge, as well as the love for his country are traits we hope our younger generation will emulate. We say goodbye to another Praslinois who served his country with great devotion and pride,” said the President.
Dr Ferrari held several positions in government and within the UN. He was a champion of human rights and democracy.
We pray for the repose of his soul as we uphold his widow and children.
