Addis Ababa: Second generation Ethiopians who arrived at Addis Ababa Bole International Airport in response to Prime Minister Abiy’s call for homecoming said that the invitation has created an opportunity for us to know and promote Ethiopia.

It is to be recalled that PM Abiy Ahmed called on second generation Ethiopians living abroad to come and visit Ethiopia and to end, a national committee consisting of various stakeholders has been established to facilitate the home coming.

In this regard, second generation Ethiopian diaspora from different parts of the world are arriving in Ethiopia.

So far, second generation Ethiopian diaspora have made their way to Ethiopia in several flights, and Ethiopians from various parts of the world, including Europe and the Middle East arrived at Bole International Airport today.

Approached by ENA, the second generation Ethiopians arriving at Bole International Airport said that the invitation that the prime minister extended to us has created an opportunity for us to know E
thiopia better and promote it more.

Elam Daniel, a young girl from London, said, “I am very happy with the reception accorded to me and I am glad that I was able to see Ethiopia.”

If all get a chance to see Ethiopia, they will benefit in many ways, she said, adding that ‘I will work to promote Ethiopia in every opportunity I get, and in this regard, my visit has an important role.’

Another person from Poland, Fikru Girma, said the effort being started to enable the second-generation Ethiopians who are living abroad know Ethiopia and connect with their culture is encouraging.

Now is the time to learn more about Ethiopia, he said, urging Ethiopians living abroad to seize the opportunity and visit Ethiopia.

Makdes Gidafe, who came from Dubai, said that there are many children who were born and grew abroad and did not have the opportunity to see Ethiopia.

She advised families to play their part to enable Ethiopians living abroad know their country in a better way.
