People with disabilities are encouraged to seek assistance through the Disabled Trust Fund in which a sum of 400 thousand rupees is set aside each year to assist them.

The Minister responsible for the family, Marie-Celine Zialor, said that the new criteria that have been put in place make provision for what funds have been used to provide the more specialized equipment that people with disabilities need, what people need. certified by a doctor with a disability, who is not receiving assistance from another country for the same needs and also who is a Seychellois.

Minister Zialor gave these details to the Assembly this morning when he was answering a question from MNA Naddy Zialor on this issue.

Regarding the number of applicants since the new procedure was established and the number of people who attended, Minister Zialor said that there are 46 applications submitted since the new procedure was established. six have completed their attendance, five have been approved to attend soon, while the others need to put their documents in order before they can attend.

PS Roucou says that among the reasons why this fund helps people with wheelchairs, modify the party band to make them more disabled friendly and say the biggest sum of money that this fund spends on a process between 40 and 50 thousand rupees.
