Sixty-two (62) participants of the first children’s conference held at the Hilton Labriz Silhouette were awarded with a certificate and the winners of a related poster competition were awarded gifts.
Curtis Pool from Grand Anse Praslin secondary is the grand winner of the poster competition followed by Asher Rath and Annarosa Bistoquet from Mont Fleuri secondary in second and third position respectively.
The surprise of the event, which was held at the Seychelles Institute of Teacher Education at Mont Fleuri, was when the winning posters, already framed, were gifted to the department of Tourism, Ministry of Education and the Hilton Labriz Silhouette by the winners themselves.
Marcus Finesse from the Seychelles Institute of Art and Design was also rewarded for being the mastermind behind the logo used for the children’s conference.
Minister for Education, Dr Justin Valentin, commended the children who participated in that conference for their good behaviour and noted that there was no incidents recorded.
“For sure together with the Hilton Labriz, we will debrief on the event and see how we can make it better. We will work on a strategy to make it an annual event and have more interactive programmes,” shared the minister.
The country general manager Hilton Seychelles, Andre Borg, the general manager of Hilton Northolme, noted that hospitality starts at a young age. “We will never forget your faces. You made us happy and stay always positive. This is your future and our future. Thank you for partnering with us.”
During the event, all participants of the conference and the participants of the poster competition were presented with a certificate of participation and all stakeholders received a certificate of appreciation.
Taniah, our famous local artist, entertained the guests with two of her newest songs.
