Following the meeting held with the Ministry of Health on Friday January 7, 2022 and subsequent internal meeting conducted with head teachers and directors of professional centres by the Covid task force of the ministry’s headquarters yesterday, the Ministry of Education would like to inform the general public that each institution has been tasked with establishing their readiness for re-opening as per the previously approved calendar of operations.
This will be from Monday January 17, 2022for primary and secondary schools and as per respective calendar of operations for each professional centre.
The modality of operations will depend on the Covid-19 situation and readiness of each respective school, which are currently being assessed.
Further details will be communicated to the public in consultation with the Ministry of Health later this week.
Additionally, all educational institutions will operate under protocols established in collaboration with the Ministry of Health in order to avoid the spread of Covid-19.
Parents are reminded that students who have tested positive for Covid-19 or have been identified as a contact should remain at home and not attend school until their period of isolation or quarantine has ended.
Students who show symptoms associated with Covid-19 should be tested and not resume school until they receive their test results.
The Ministry of Education in collaboration with the Ministry of Health will keep you informed should there be any changes.
Thank you for your cooperation and understanding.
