Next Step group to increase participation in community work this year

The Next Step group has said this year members of the group are planning to be more involved in voluntary work in the community.

Recently, members of the Next Step group conducted voluntary works at two different locations on Praslin where they painted the cross at the Grand Anse Praslin church as well as the one at Baie Ste Anne opposite the district’s administration office.

Group leader Sonny Dogley said it is the first time the group did voluntary work on Praslin and he expressed heartfelt gratitude to all those who have helped them in one way or another to carry out their activities.

Meanwhile, members of the group will be on La Digue from April 8-10 to clean around and paint the grotto to support the national Clean-up Seychelles campaign.

On Mahé on March 25, members of the Next Step group sported Orange Day t-shirts, displayed orange ribbons and gave away leaflets at the Anse Royale children’s playground to help raise awareness and say no to violence against women and girls.

While Mr Dogley said the group is grateful for the support it has received to bring help in the community, he said they plan to do more voluntary work this year and bring their support in the different communities where there is a need and for that the Next Step group is calling on more businesses operating in the different communities to come forward and support its members in any way they can.

On behalf of the group, he has expressed his gratitude to all those who believe in the group’s initiatives and continue to support its different activities.
