Ethiopia has carried out effective bilateral and multilateral diplomacy at the international conferences held in Italy, according to Foreign Affairs State Minister Birtukan Ayano.
It is to be recalled that Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed participated in the International Conference on Migration and Development.
During the occasion, the premier and other senior government officials held bilateral talks with various countries on the sidelines of the conference.
Foreign Affairs State Minister Birtukan Ayano pointed out that Ethiopia’s participation in multilateral and bilateral diplomacy is growing from time to time.
Efforts have been carried out to protect Ethiopia’s national interest and in this regard the international conferences held in Italy have been fruitful in enhancing bilateral and multilateral diplomacy.
She pointed out that Ethiopia also shared its experiences in the conference, especially with respect to food self-sufficiency and combating illegal immigration.
The state minister recalled that Prime Minister Abiy elaborated at the UN Food Systems Summit the role of the Green Legacy Initiative in improving food security and nutrition.
“The Green Legacy Initiative plays a vital role in restoring Ethiopia’s forest and supporting food self-sufficiency. One in every 50 seedlings is fruit bearing like avocado, mango, apple and papaya,” the premier noted.
According to Birtukan, activities have been carried out to protect Ethiopia’s national interests in multilateral and bilateral diplomacy.
She reiterated that efforts will continue to improve Ethiopia’s diplomatic activities in multilateral and bilateral sectors.
