Minister Barry Faure Engages with Russian Counterpart at Russia-Africa Ministerial Conference

Cairo: Minister Barry Faure, Seychelles Minister of Foreign Affairs and the Diaspora, engaged in discussions with Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov on the sidelines of the Russia-Africa Ministerial Conference held in Cairo. The meeting underscored the ongoing cooperation between Seychelles and Russia, anchored within the framework established by the Russia-Africa Partnership Forum initiated in Sochi in 2019. According to African Press Organization, the dialogue between Minister Faure and Minister Lavrov focused on the positive developments in bilateral relations, setting the stage for the upcoming 50th anniversary of formal diplomatic relations between the two countries in 2026. Both ministers expressed a commitment to further enhance economic and technical cooperation, aiming to benefit both Seychelles and Russia.
