Tema: A man believed to be in his mid-50s was on Friday beheaded by a man suspected to be mentally challenged at the Tema Main Harbour Railways vicinity. The incident has shaken the community, leaving many in disbelief.
According to Ghana News Agency, Ali, the suspected murderer, is in his 30s and severed the head of the victim, a caretaker of a yard in the area. After the gruesome act, Ali was seen carrying the head in a carrier bag. He was later apprehended and led police personnel from the Tema Regional Police Command to where the body was lying, which was subsequently conveyed to the mortuary.
The circumstances leading to the incident remain unclear, but the event has left squatters in the area in shock. Mr. Isaac Adjei, a resident, mentioned that Ali was known for carrying cargo for trucks around the harbour. However, over the past two and a half years, he had begun to exhibit signs of mental instability.
