It is with great sadness that we learned of the death of one of our centenarians, Marie Aline Adela, who was 102 years old, yesterday at her home in Anse François, Pointe Larue.
The last time our team saw her was in September 2022 on her birthday at her home.
Mrs. Marie Aline Adela had 11 children and she had to raise her children alone after losing her husband in 1963. Her last child was only four months old. Ms. Adela had difficulty walking and needed help to move. She was beginning to forget the moments of her life.
Talking to the press on her birthday, she told us “nowadays I can’t do anything. In the morning after my pampering, I sit in my chair and try to watch television. I eat whatever is given to me. From time to time I also have a small glass of wine. In the past I worked a lot especially in the cinnamon industry and I know how to do everything”.
