SALFIT, Wednesday, March 15, 2023 (WAFA) – Israeli settlers today physically assaulted and injured two Palestinian youths in the town of Qarawat Bani Hassan to the west of Salfit in the north of the West Bank, according to local sources. The two youths were taken to a hospital for medical treatment, said the sources. Settler violence against Palestinians and their property is routine in the West Bank and is rarely prosecuted by Israeli authorities. ‘Violence committed by settlers against Palestinians has been documented since the very early days of the occupation. It is recorded in countless government documents and dossiers, in thousands of testimonies from Palestinians and soldiers, in books, in reports by Palestinian, Israeli and international human rights organizations – including B’Tselem, from its inception – and in thousands of media stories. Yet this ongoing, comprehensive documentation has had almost no effect on settler violence against Palestinians, which has long since become part and parcel of life under the occupation in the West Bank,’ said the Israeli human rights group, B’tselem.
