Victoria: On Tuesday, Ms. Alia Hirji, the Chief of Mission for the International Organization for Migration (IOM) Office for Mauritius and Seychelles, met with the Minister for Foreign Affairs and Tourism, Mr. Sylvestre Radegonde, at Maison Quéau de Quinssy.
According to African Press Organization, Ms. Hirji is visiting Seychelles for a working engagement, which includes leading an IOM specialised course on maritime safety, search, and rescue. This course is designed for operational officers from the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and Seychelles.
During her visit, Ms. Hirji discussed the progress in IOM's collaboration with Seychelles, emphasizing the importance of enhancing cooperation in several critical areas. Key topics included migration profiling, labour mobility, counter-human trafficking, and diaspora engagement.
