The Supreme Court of Seychelles yesterday charged a 34-year-old French national with the offence of murder, contrary to Section 193 of the Penal Code and punishable under section 194 of the Penal Code.
The charge comes after the man’s32-year-old girlfriend, also a French national, was found hanged at the Club Med Hotel Seychelles on Ste Anne island on April 27, 2021.
The accused is being held on remand for two weeks and is set to reappear before the Supreme Court on Tuesday June 8, 2021 at 1.30pm. He is yet to plead guilty or not guilty.
The case is being presided over by Justice Melchior Vidot.
