On the occasion of the 45th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the Republic of Seychelles and the People’s Republic of China, Seychelles’ Foreign Minister, Mr. Sylvestre Radegonde has reciprocated a congratulatory message to the State Councilor and Minister of Foreign Affairs of The People’s Republic of China, H.E Minister Wang Yi.
In his message, Minister Radegonde described China as a steadfast friend of Seychelles. He further expressed that over the past four and a half decades, China’s unwavering support and solidarity as a bilateral partner has been of paramount importance for Seychelles’ development as a nation.
Amidst the challenges brought about by the COVID-19 pandemic since 2020, Minister Radegonde noted that China has extended generous assistance to Seychelles in donating various medical supplies. “The latest donation of 25,000 Sinopharm vaccines is testament to the spirit of Chinese generosity and friendship”, added the Minister.
To conclude, Minister Radegonde reiterated the Government of Seychelles’ support to the “One China Policy” and reassured his Chinese counterpart that in the years to come, the relations and friendship between the two countries and its peoples will continue to grow to even greater heights.
