Fire has completely destroyed a compartment in a block of flats near the old guard cord, Mont Fleuri, yesterday morning.

The Fire and Rescue Services were alerted to the fire in a unit in a block of flats around 3:09 this morning and they deployed 3 trucks – 2 for firefighting and another with water.

It took 4 to 5 minutes for 10 officers to bring the fire under control and 10 minutes to extinguish it completely.

The entire unit was destroyed by the fire, while the other 3 units were not affected.
