Addis ababa: Ethiopia’s Parliament is set to hold a joint session with the House of Federation on Monday, marking the commencement of the fifth year of the House of Peoples’ Representatives and the House of Federation. This significant event is scheduled to officially open tomorrow.
According to Ethiopian News Agency, the Constitution of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia mandates that the opening of these two Houses occurs on the last Monday of the first month of the Ethiopian calendar year. President Taye Atske Selassie is anticipated to address the joint session, during which he will outline the government’s primary policy directions and priorities for the 2018 Ethiopian fiscal year across several sectors.
The opening ceremony is expected to draw a diverse array of attendees, including ambassadors, representatives of international organizations, religious leaders, prominent national figures, and various other invited guests.
