Ethiopia’s House of Peoples Representatives Approves Appointment of Five Ministers


Ethiopia’s House of Peoples Representatives has approved the appointment of five ministers.

The House of Peoples Representatives has held its 2nd regular session today.

During its session, the House approved the appointment of five ministers with a majority vote, one against and two abstentions.

The ministers, whose appointment was approved today include Minister of Culture and Sports Shewit Shanka, Minister of Justice, Hanna Arayaselassie, Minister of Tourism, Selamawit Kassa, Foreign Affairs Minister, Gedion Timothewos and Trade and Regional Integration Minister Kassahun Gofe.

Chief Government Whip at the House of Peoples Representatives, Tesfaye Beljige, said on the occasion that the appointment includes young ministers that have proven their abilities in practice.

Tesfaye stated that the new ministers are capable to effectively and efficiently execute the government’s reform measures being carried out in various institutions across the nation.
