Ethiopia, AUDA-NEPAD Seeking to Strengthen Cooperation


Addis Ababa: The African Union Development Agency-NEPAD (AUDA-NEPAD) has reaffirmed commitment to further consolidate cooperation with Ethiopia.

Ethiopia’s Foreign Affairs Minister Taye Atske Sellasie had a fruitful discussion today with Nardos Bekele Thomas, Chief Executive Officer of the African Union Development Agency-NEPAD.

The discussion between the two sides aimed to identify areas of cooperation between Ethiopia and AUDA-NEPAD, according to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

During their conversation, Nardos informed the foreign minister about the possibility of expanding AUDA-NEPAD’s presence in each member state to effectively accelerate the delivery of Agenda 2063’s priority programs across the continent.

On his part, Foreign Minister Taye Atske Sellasie Nardos that Ethiopia values AUDA-NEPAD’s continued support for the country’s development endeavors.

The two sides also discussed Ethiopia’s role as a member of the AUDA-NEPAD Heads of State and Government Orientation Committee, which provides st
rategic leadership to the agency.

In 2018, the African Union established AUDA-NEPAD to coordinate and execute priority regional and continental projects aimed at promoting regional integration and accelerating the implementation of Agenda 2063, it was learned.
