Addis Ababa: House of People’s Representative (HPR) Speaker, Tagesse Chafo hailed Chebera Churchura Elephant Paw Lodge as a transformative example for Ethiopia’s development praising its ability to turn local tourism gems into national prosperity.
Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed inaugurated on Saturday Chebera Churchura Elephant Paw Lodge, which is part of the Koisha project under the Primier’s Dine for the Nation initiative.
During the inauguration ceremony, the speaker said the lodge has taught us a great lesson in using the resources in each area as a potential for transformative development.
Noting that Ethiopia is blessed with natural resources in all its corners, the speaker added that these resources have great potential to contribute to job creation, economic growth, and prosperity.
Therefore, it is necessary to ensure mutual benefit by identifying and developing the national resources.
Since tourism is, particularly, linked with other development sectors, the activities carried out in this field have
many benefits to the people and the country, he noted.
In this regard, the lodge has revealed the potential untapped natural resources in the area and this is a lesson to use and tap natural resources as potentials for tangible development.
The speaker stressed that the endeavor to transform Ethiopia’s potential into development requires the joint efforts of all stakeholders.
The speaker urged Ethiopians to embrace this model of progress, emphasizing unity and collaboration beyond differences. This can be achieved by striving for common development and prosperity.
Despite our differences, more issues bind us than separate us; so we should use our resources that are good enough for others to survive us.
For this, he said, it is necessary to coordinate the human resources in each area and do the work quickly and with quality.
In this regard, he pointed out that the government’s effective work in project implementation can be taken as an experience.
The speaker said just as we fight to protect the country,
we must fight together to change the country and overcome poverty.
The house will do its part by providing the necessary support and monitoring, he assured.
