December is the most wonderful time of the year! And it is even more so at Kempinski Seychelles Resort, where we kicked off the festivity in style as early as December 4.
The festive season is synonymous with traditions, whereby we gather with our loved ones in the spirit of togetherness and sharing. For a decade, Kempinski Seychelles Resort has had its very own ceremonial tradition. We mark the beginning of the celebrations with an annual rendezvous, during which resort guests, valued partners and the team members are all invited to live this symbolic moment.
This year was no exception. The long-awaited day was Sunday, December 4, when all invitees gathered in the lagoon area of the hotel to assist for this auspicious event. In a mood of cheerfulness, Oliver Kuhn, general manager of Kempinski Seychelles Resort, welcomed the invitees and addressed his best wishes to all present.
“It is a time to rejoice! A time to remember the good memories of the year elapsed as well as to reflect on the challenges. With the feeling of joy in the air, we, at Kempinski Seychelles Resort, feel blessed to be on such a stunning island, and we are delighted to celebrate the start of a new year with exciting moments awaiting us. We seize this opportunity to heartily thank our guests, whose loyalty means an enormous amount to us. But also, we extend our gratitude to our team for their commitment and dedication in crafting beautiful performances every day,” he said.
The speech of GM Kuhn was followed by the culminating moment of the afternoon. Everyone raised their glass to toast the official lighting of the giant and iconic Christmas tree while the choir of the nearby Baie Lazare Church started to sing Christmas carols. What an emotional moment for both youngsters and adults, with their eyes twinkling, while admiring the dazzling tree in the middle of the ‘lagoon’, in awe.
The highlight of the event was the surprise arrival of Santa Claus with his Christmas Santa sack full of gifts for the children present. This moment announced the start of a month of festivity at Kempinski Seychelles Resort.
At Kempinski Seychelles Resort, the team is excited to welcome these new holiday seasons with a fun-filled programme for our guests, special treats for the children at Kempinski Kids Club and enjoyable times for the adults. New experiences have been put together, such as cocktail time on the beach with a bartender and champagne hour. The young adults will be decorating traditional gingerbread, partying and having a pampering time with friends, crafting gifts for loved ones and meeting Santa on December 25.
Moreover, the culinary programme has been redesigned to amaze our guests during the holiday seasons with daily entertainment. Do not miss our exclusive festive cocktail menus, which will only be available during Christmas time. Two special events will precede Christmas, with an Advent gathering in the afternoon. This year, the resort has chosen Ocean Glitz as the theme, as an ode to the magnificent Baie Lazare.
