“Finishing third in the Worldwide NPC/IFBB Pro League Muscle Mulisha Grand Prix Pro Qualifier is a big and positive achievement on international stage, and is just the beginning of more good things to come.”

This is how Wallace Dorasamy has described his latest achievement registered in Johannesburg, South Africa last weekend.

“Sacrifices pay off,” he added.

Dorasamy said there was a very big line-up in the men’s classic physique division.

“With everyone on stage, the judges chose four athletes for the first call-out. I was one of the four along with a Turkish and two South Africans.

“I had a very good chance of earning a better finish and was even called for comparison. In the end, I settled for third place behind two South Africans. The third place finish is very important morally. This is because my objective is always to do better than in my previous competition. I have maintained this and moved from 25th to 15th, 10th and fifth place last year and finally third this year. It’s an amazing result for me because it was very tough competing in an open class pro qualifier,” Dorasamy told Sports NATION.

Dorasamy added that he has eight-and-a-half weeks to prepare for his next competition ? the UK British Championship final which he has qualified to take part in.

Why bodybuilding?

“I chose bodybuilding because I want to achieve a lot. I am in competition with myself and I have to make a lot of sacrifices to get the desired results. I get a lot of support from my family and my coach. I really appreciate it,” added Dorasamy.

Dorasamy said he wanted to follow into the footsteps of his dad ? Bernard Dorasamy ? who was one of Seychelles’ top strikers and played for the mighty St Louis team who dominated football here in the regionalistion era.

He started playing for St Michel and reached quite a good level before sustaining a serious knee injury. After the injury healed he tried to make a comeback but his muscles were weak. To reinforce his muscles he had to do some work-out in the gym and that’s when he fell in love with bodybuilding. That was 11 years ago. He has since been competing internationally for seven years.

Dorasamy is the reigning Mr Seychelles men’s physique champion achieved in 2019.

“I always strive to give my best. Bodybuilding is not easy. You have to be strong mentally and physically. All bodybuilders knows that very well and this is why some do not make it to the highest level. I am sure I will make it but I lack financial support, especially during my preparation. Everyone who knows me knows that I want to be successful and will make it. So your support is welcomed,” concluded Dorasamy.
