Alisen Camille and Jakim Renaud are the singles winners of the badminton Curtain-raiser tournament played during the final week of May at the La Promenade Gymnasium.

Camille won the women’s singles title by beating Vanessa Crea 2-0 (21-7, 21-10) in the final.

As for Renaud, he triumphed in the men’s singles event after collecting a 2-0 (21-9, 21-13) victory against Aaron Malcouzane in the final.

Women’s singles winner Camille then teamed up with Shirley Etienne to win the women’s doubles title after dominating the pair of Vanessa Crea and Lindy Bedier on a 2-0 (21-4, 21-6) score.

The men’s doubles was won by Aaron Malcouzane and Steve Malcouzane. They beat Jakim Renaud and Joel Dubel 2-0 (21-13, 21-15).

Camille and Renaud joined forces in the mixed doubles and after losing the first set 14-21, they came out stronger in the next two to win 21-12 and 21-16 to close the game on 2-1 final score after 35 minutes of play.
