This exhibition is a collaboration with the National Arts Council, Seylar, Noular (SESEL) and The Palette Arts Shop. It marks a ‘before’ and ‘after’ in the history of Arts in Seychelles and the exhibition is completely sponsored by the registered company ‘Ereina Meriton Canvas’ active since 2005.
Another important aspect of the exhibition is the strict practices concerning safety rules and protocols for providing protection to avoid transmission of Covid-19. While only four people can be inside the gallery at any given time any person waiting can comfortably sit on a chair at the National Library ‘patio’ and relax safely, keeping physical distance as per Covid-19 safety protocols. At the same time, the visitors to the gallery can choose to make a drawing or take a photograph and participate in a free arts lottery with the price of R1,000 and a small framed artistic photograph! Free consultation on technical aspects of drawing, painting, sculpture, gardening, floral arts and photography is given by the artists, if necessary.
The most appreciated piece is the ‘Madonna of Seychelles, Circa 2001’ capturing the allure, wisdom, kindness, reliance, courage and beauty of all Seychellois going at the price of R9,515 frame included.
The exhibition is open until January 12, 2022.
