The flight was commanded by Captain Mervin Sicobo and First Officer Rajesh Nair who were supported by cabin manager Jemmy Edmond, cabin senior Isabelle Palmyre, flight attendants Ryan Bonnelame, Elaine Marie and Mike Maria as well as engineers Denys Assan and Antoine François. All were equally delighted to welcome the cohort onboard en route to the regional islands games.
The youth exchange and sports competition, which takes place every two years, will see Seychelles square up against the six other CJSOI member states, namely Comoros, Djibouti, Reunion, Madagascar, Mauritius and Mayotte in various disciplines including athletics, beach handball, boxing and more. Alongside sports, participating youth will also get a chance to engage in dialogues at a fair for young entrepreneurs and cultural performances.
Sandy Benoiton, the airline’s acting chief executive, expressed: “It is an honour for Air Seychelles to carry the team for the games, and we wish every participant the very best. You can count on our support.”
Air Seychelles will also bring the team back home on December 14 on a chartered flight from Mauritius which will also carry the CJSOI flag handed over to Seychelles as the next host country for the 13th edition of the games in 2025.
Good luck Team Seychelles!
